WATCH: Florida Southern College Mid-Season Meet Highlights

Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida wrapped up their fall semester at the Spartan Invitaitonal in Tampa 2 weeks ago. That meet served mostly as a mid-year meet for Division II teams in the state of Florida, but they were joined by Indian River State College, the country’s top junior-college program, and Division I Rice University, who flew in from Houston to participate.

Florida Southern finished 4th out of 5 teams in the men’s pool, and 5th out of 6 teams in the women’s pool. Among the top individual performances for the Mocs was Nico Campbell, who won the 100 free on the final day of the meet in 45.01. In total, the men’s team won 4 individual events:

  • Matthew Holmes, 200 IM – 1:48.40
  • Matthew Holmes, 400 IM – 3:51.27
  • Brandon Dyck, 100 back – 48.68
  • Nico Campbell, 100 free – 45.01

Theteam will be back in action on January 12th when they welcome in Division III powerhouse Emory for a dual meet, before facing off the next day against D2 rival Nova Southeastern.
