TYR Sport Signs Olympic Gold Medalist & 2X Ironman Jan Frodeno

TYR Sport, the leading manufacturer of competitive swim and triathlon gear, is excited to announce the addition of Olympic Gold Medalist and 2X IRONMAN World Champion Jan Frodeno to its growing roster of world-class athletes. As part of this multi-year partnership Frodeno will compete in both the TYR Hurricane Wetsuit and the TYR Torque Swimskin.

Certainly no stranger to the sport of triathlon, Jan Frodeno has spent nearly a decade turning heads at the highest level of competition. As a breakout star at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, Frodeno earned gold for his jaw-dropping sprint finish performance. Since then the 2x Olympian has kept the triathlon world on its toes. Making history in 2015 he became the first triathlete (male or female) to win both the Olympic Triathlon Gold and the IRONMAN World Championship title. Most recently, Jan clinched his second IRONMAN World Championship win in 2016.

“I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of team TYR,” began Frodeno. “It is obvious that they are committed to building the sport’s fastest race gear and their swim innovation is unmatched in the industry.”

Sharing in the sentiment, TYR Sport Chief Executive Officer Matt DiLorenzo commented:

“…this partnership truly represents our continued commitment to growing TYR within the sport of triathlon. We are thrilled to add Jan to team TYR and look forward to working together to provide best in class product at all levels of competition.”

Frodeno joins an impressive roster of athletes including Ryan Lochte, Mirinda Carfrae, Dana Vollmer, Chrissie Wellington, Matt Grevers, Craig Alexander, Cody Miller, Andy Potts, Sarah True and Caroline Steffen.
