Tickets for Australian Olympic Trials Go on Sale

Tickets for the 2012 Swimming Australia National Championships (also known as the 2012 Australian Olympic Trials) have just gone on sale. The meet will be held between March 15-22nd at the brand-new, $100 million SA Sport and Leisure Centre in Adelaide.

Full-meet tickets begin at only $160 (and run up to $280) for the 8-day meet. Individual session tickets for finals can be purchased for anywhere from $10-$85.

That’s a huge discount from the American Olympic Trials, where the cheapest package for just a four-day chunk of the meet in Omaha is $180.

Australian tickets are expected to go quickly, despite moving from the heavily-populated Sydney market that Trials are usually held in. The grandstand seating capacity at the SA pool is only 3,450.

Among the huge stars who will be swimming at this meet include the zenith of the comeback tries of Ian Thorpe, Michael Klim, Geoff Huegill and Libby Trickett. That is in addition to the slew of hugely-popular younger swimmers, including James Magnussen, Jessicah Schipper, Steph Rice, and Eamon Sullivan.
