TCU Hits The Road To Take On North Texas

TCU’s women’s swimming and diving team will travel up I-35 on Friday to take on Metroplex rival North Texas. The meet is scheduled for 5 p.m.

SERIES HISTORY

TCU is 15-5 all time against the Mean Green including winning three of the last five contests. TCU’s last win came in 2015 when the Horned Frogs won 168-130.

At last year’s meet, Maddie Ibrahim, Devin Newton, Claire Munster, and Micaela Roemer won the 200 medley relay with a 1:46.06 mark and Katie Woods recorded a first-place time of 10:33.19 in the 1,000 free.

LAST TIME OUT

TCU hosted West Virginia in a Big 12 matchup with the Mountaineers winning 196-103. Nicqueline Rettberg won the 1,000 free, while Newton and Munster won the 100 breast and 100 IM respectively.

TCU THIS SEASON

The women’s team has recorded several school records and cuts this season. Newton and Ibrahim broke their own school records in the 100 breast (1:01.72) and 100 back (54.54). Elise Forzley recorded a 1:56.96 cut in the 200 back at the Texas Invitational, setting a school record. Munster, Roemer, Newton, and Amanda Key set the school record in the 400 medley relay with a 1:41.55 mark.

LOOKING AHEAD

TCU will wrap up the regular season on the road against No.4 Texas, on Friday, Feb.2. From there, the Horned Frogs will prepare for the Big 12 Championships, scheduled for Feb. 21-24, in Austin, Texas.
