The fourth leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019 came to an end tonight in Tokyo, Japan, as Russian stars Svetlana Kolesnichenko and Svetlana Romashina, both Olympic and World champions, displayed their best form over the three-day competition from April 27-29.
Team Russia clinched nine gold medals out of ten available this weekend in Kazan, Russia, as the experienced host city staged the third leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019 for the first time since the inception of the annual competition in 2017.
Russia won gold in 8 of 9 synchronized swimming events in a dominant 2018 European Championships.
Out of the eight finals contested in the Magyar capital, four gold medals went to Russian athletes, while the remaining four titles went to Ukraine at the 2018 FINA Artistic Swimming World Series in Budapest.
Linda Cerruti, from Italy, was the star of the fourth meet of the 2018 FINA Artistic Swimming World Series, held in Samorin (SVK) on May 11-13, earning four gold medals.
