NCAA DIII Champs Day 2: Prelims Continue to Set up Emory, Kenyon Well For Finals

After Day 2 Prelims, Kenyon Lords come in with 11 swims and two relays in the top 8. DU men come in with 7 returning swims, one relay in the A final and one in B. On the women’s side, the close race continues: Emory has 9 swims with two up relays. JHU has 6 with two up relays. Denison has 4 with two up relays, and Kenyon has only 3 with two up relays.

NCAA DIII Champs Day 1: And They’re Off!

After prelims of the first day of the NCAA DIII National Championships, it’s impossible to think anything but how fast this meet has gotten. After jockeying for place, Denison has 9 swims for the men tonight to Kenyon’s 6. Emory and Kenyon’s women both have 9 returning swims tonight. As points go up, the energy in this place does too…

The defending national champions, the Emory Eagles, are the favorites to win again this year. With the same number of swimmers and divers, however, Kenyon has the potential to climb up to the top of the podium.

After three days of seriously fast swimming, Big Red extends its winning streak at the Conference Championships to six years running.

NCAC Champs Day II – Dignan Breaks Another National Record; Denison Men and Kenyon Women Still Leading

During day two of the NCAC Champs, Denison’s men have widened the gap between themselves and the Lords, while the Big Red women have begun to chip away at the lead established by the Ladies on the first day.

NCAC Championships – Records Fall, Leaving DU Men and Kenyon Ladies in Lead After Day I Finals

Records have been falling like flies after the first day of racing at the NCAC Championships, hosted by Denison University in their home pool, the Trumbull Aquatic Center. The Denison men and Kenyon women are currently leading after Day I.

DU Squads Split; Lose One, Win One

For the second-straight weekend, the Denison’s swimming & diving teams competed in split-squad action against Division I and Division III opponents. In a tri-meet at the University of Pittsburgh, the Big Red fell to the host Panthers. At the Trumbull Aquatics Center, DU defeated Grove City.

Denison falls to Eastern Michigan; Tops Wittenberg

The Big Red squad divided into two groups for their first competition since the midseason meet. One half of the athletes stayed at home for a dual meet with Eastern Michigan University while the other half made the trek to Springfield, OH for a meet with NCAC competitors, Wittenberg.

DIII Women’s Midseason Power Rankings: Emory Atop Standings, JHU Making Some Noise

So, after some heavy duty training, December’s midseason meets gave us all some fast swims to marvel at and enjoy. But the big question on everyone’s mind is always – so what next? Midseason is a great way to look forward to what might be coming up in March for those athletes who will be rep-ing their teams at IUPUI in March for the NCAA meet.

Miami Invite – Day 3, DU Men Continue to Crush the Competition

On the third night of the Miami Invite in Oxford, Ohio, the Denison men locked down their victory, set two additional varsity records and finished atop the standings by over 1,100 points.

Miami Invite – Day Two, Rosenburg Resets DIII Record. Again.

After a quick preliminary 100 breaststroke in which he broke the Division III National record, Denison’s Damon Rosenburg came back in finals to better his new NCAA record even further. The prelims swim broke a 14 year old Denison school record which had belonged to Aaron Cole. After his drop in finals, Rosenburg also owns the fastest time ever recorded in the 100 breaststroke in 20 years of swimming at the Miami Invitational.

Miami Invite – Day One

It was the Big Red Show tonight at the Miami Invite. After a good start to the three day meet in Oxford, Ohio, the Denison men are sitting in first place among a host of Division I teams (and rival DIII team, Emory) while the women are in third after the day’s two events.

Denison Takes Third at OSU Quad Meet

The Big Red Men and Women competed at Ohio Statue University last night against OSU, Virginia Tech and Cleveland State. They came in third in the point standings for both the men and the women, topping the Division I Cleveland State 180-120 and 188-112, respectively.

Kenyon Relay Meet: Lords Win, Ladies Runners Up

The Kenyon Lords won six of eight relays to top the team standings at the annual Kenyon Relay Meet. The Ladies were runner up after winning four events.
