SwimAtlanta butterflyer Gabrielle Pick signs on with LSU

Butterflyer Gabrielle Pick has picked Louisiana State as her college of choice, signing on with the Tigers this week.

Pick comes out of Georgia, where she competes for SwimAtlanta and Milton High School. She’s a very solid butterfly talent there, holding lifetime-bests of 57.30 in the 100 fly and 2:06.29 in the 200-yard distance.

She’ll join an LSU butterfly corps that has been very successful as of late. Last year, the Tigers had two swimmers score points in the tough SEC in the butterfly events: Amber Carter, who’s in her last year of eligibility this season, and Kara Kopcso, now a sophomore who should serve as a great training partner for Pick in Pick’s first two collegiate seasons.

Pick might be even more intriguing long course meters, where her top fly times are 1:03.52 and 2:18.62. She hit both of those lifetime bests this past summer.
