Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Williamsburg, Virginia, native Gracie Gregory has committed to swim and study at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, beginning in the fall. Gregory comes from a family of competitive athletes. She told SwimSwam, “Both of my parents competed in college athletics. My mom swam for William and Mary, and my older brother [rising junior Liam Gregory] currently swims for Drew University. My younger sister is also a swimmer, and she is currently going through her college recruiting process.”
At the time of her commitment, she wrote on social media:
“I am so excited to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Miami University! I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I want to thank my family, coaches, teammates, and friends for supporting me throughout this process. I also want to thank Coaches Sam and Flynn for making this possible! Go Redhawks!❤️”
At Lafayette High School, Gregory was a member of the Spanish Honor Society and received the award for Spanish Student of the Year at graduation.
Gregory swims year-round with Williamsburg Aquatic Club. Last December, her coach, Harold Baker, wrote an emotional editorial in SwimSwam about Gregory’s POTS diagnosis and how it had affected both her swimming and her recruiting process.
Gregory had a strong senior year, improving her times across the board (200/500/1000/1650 free, 50 back, 200 breast, 50/100/200 fly, and 100/200/400 IM) during short course season. She swam at Winter Juniors East, competing in the 200 fly and 200/400 IM and earning a PB in the fly. At Virginia LSC Short Course Senior Championships, she was a top-8 finisher in the 1000 free, 200 IM, and 400 IM. She lowered her 200 fly PB and added new lifetime bests in the 1000 free, 50 back, and 100 fly.
Later that month, she went to Florida to compete at the ISCA International Senior Cup. There, she clocked PBs in the 500 free, 200 breast, 50 fly, and 200 IM, placing 5th in the 500 free, 2nd in the 1650, 2nd in the 50 back, 4th in the 200 back, 1st in the 200 breast, 2nd in the 50 fly, 2nd in the 200 fly, 2nd in the 200 IM, and 4th in the 400 IM.
At Madison Futures, she finaled in the 50 fly and 400 IM and earned a Summer Juniors cut in the latter.
Gregory told SwimSwam, “Outside of my own swimming, I coach younger swimmers on my team and teach preschool swim lessons.”
She will join diver Avery Potrzebowski and swimmers Ivanka Bukele, Madison Watschke, Madi Camden, and Rebekah Gurley in the Redhawks’ class of 2029. Miami finished 3rd in the women’s meet at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Championships, where Gregory’s best times would have scored in the ‘A’ finals of the 500 free, 1650 free (top 8), 200 fly, and 400 IM, and the ‘B’ finals of the 200 free, 200 breast, and 200 IM.
