Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Rowyn Wilber, who hails from Fresno, California, has verbally committed to swim and study at the University of California beginning in the fall of 2027.
“I am BEYOND excited to announce my D1 verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic journey at the University of Southern California! Thank you to my amazing family, coaches, and friends for your endless support, and a huge thank you to the entire USC coaching staff for helping make this dream a reality. FIGHT ON! ✌️❤️”
Wilber swims for Clovis North High School, where she is a junior, and Clovis Swim Club. She is a “Best of the Rest” recruit on our Way Too Early list of top girls’ swimmers from the high school class of 2027.
Wilber jumped into the 2024-25 short-course season with a few lifetime bests at the SMST Folsom Classic, dropping 1.2 seconds in the 100 free (53.03) and 4.1 in the 200 back (1:59.31), and clocking a lifetime-best 200 free while leading off the CLOV 800 free relay (1:51.64). Two weeks later, at the Clovis Fall Classic, she swam a pair of breaststroke PBs (1:10.31/2:32.63).
At Winter Juniors West, she hit best times in the 200 free (1:50.82), 200 back (1:57.25), and 400 IM (4:19.42) and finaled in the 200 back (17th) and 400 IM (15th). Wilber followed up on that performance with a PB in the 200 free (1:50.31) at CA/NV Winter Sectionals.
She lowered her times again in February at the Juanita Allington Memorial Senior Meet, with 51.67 in the 100 free, 10:00.47 in the 1000 free, 1:06.27 in the 100 breast, 57.12 in the 100 fly, and 2:03.34 in the 200 fly. At Justin Sectionals, the last SCY meet before high school season, she improved her 200/400 IM times (2:01.17/4:15.66). In April, swimming for Clovis North, she clocked PBs in the 200/500 frees, dipping under the 1:50/4:50 barriers for the first time (1:49.83/4:49.14).
Wilber had an even more successful long-course season, which she concluded at Summer Junior Nationals in Irvine. There, she placed 7th in the 200 back, 12th in the 400 IM, and 25th in the 200 IM. She took home new PBs of 9:06.16 in the 800 free, 1:03.58 in the 100 back, 2:14.07 in the 200 back, 2:18.65 in the 200 IM, and 4:52.25 in the 400 IM.
Best SCY times:
- 200 back – 1:57.25
- 100 back – 55.45
- 400 IM – 4:15.66
- 200 IM – 2:01.17
- 500 free – 4:49.14
- 200 free – 1:49.83
- 100 free – 51.67
Wilber will suit up for the Trojans in the class of 2031 with fellow Californian Charlotte Milkie. Her best 200 back time would have scored in the ‘C’ final at the 2025 Big Ten Championships. It took 53.97 in the 100 back, 1:59.66/1:59.66 in the IMs, and 4:46.00/1:47.11/49.60 in the freestyles to get second swims at the conference meet.
