With the first session just hours away, the start lists from the 2013 FINA World Cup in Dubai, UAE have been released.

Full start lists in one document here.

The  field will be largely the same as we saw in Moscow, only with a lot fewer Russians. There will still be some Russians, however, including Yulia Efimova and Vlad Morozov as well.

Tom Shields won’t be the only American representative at the meet: he’s joined this time by fellow Cal Bear alum and training partner Anthony Ervin

Series leader Katinka Hosszu’s schedule:

  • 200 free
  • 400 free
  • 100 IM
  • 200 IM
  • 50 fly
  • 100 fly
  • 200 fly
  • 50 back
  • 100 back
  • 200 back

She could still swim in the 400 IM or 800 free finals, timed finals, whose start lists have not been released yet.

Ruta Meilutyte, who broke a World Record of her own in Moscow, is sitting this meet out altogether.

Hosszu is amazing!
The only events she’s missing out are the 50,100 freestyles, all the breaststrokes, and maybe the 800 free and the 400 IM.

As for Hosszu’s schedule the straight finals of Women’s 800m free and 400IM seem not to be released yet on omegatiming site. I bet Hosszu enters both of them.

It seems Hosszu faces new competition on many fronts with meeting Muffat in freestyle and Seebohm in individual medleys and backstroke, for instance.

I’d love to see Ruta swimming in Dubai but completely understand if a girl of 16-years-old of age has something more important to do back home.

One thing that disturbs me is that I can’t see Sjöström on the lists so she appears to have skipped Dubai as well. No duel in the pool between Ottesen and Sjöström as DanishSwimFan wished.

Oh well, I guess I’ll have to make do with Jeanette vs Ranomi, not too bad 🙂

I doubt many SwimSwam readers are likely to be in the vicinity of Stockholm this weekend, but just in case, many of the Danish NTC swimmers are competing in the Svenska Simspelen (Swedish Swim Games) in Upplands Väsby. 🙂
