Shakeups In WI High School Ranks As Conference Champs Crowned

With just three weeks left in the season, Wisconsin boys high school swimming has reached the conference rounds, leading to some shakeups along the WISCA rankings.

The one slot unmoved, though, is #1, where defending Division 1 and Division 2 state champs Madison Memorial and Monona Grove still lead by wide margins. This marks the 9th consecutive week that both have led the WISCA ranks.

In Division 1, for the state’s big schools, Arrowhead and Madison West have been battling back and forth for the #2 spot, and have reached a stalemate heading into section championships. Those two sit tied for the second rank, with Wukesha South-Catholic Memorial rising two spots to sit 4th.

Arrowhead won the tough Classic 8/Greater Metro Conference, while West was second in the Big 8 Conference meet to #1-ranked Memorial.

In Division 2, the small-school class, Monona Grove and Shorewood remain locked into spots 1 and 2 after winning the Badger South and Woodland Conference titles, respectively.

McFarland made a run in the ranks, though, rising to #3 and sitting just two points back of Shorewood.

The post-season continues next week, with 6 section meets set up in Division 1 and 4 in Division 2.
