Rikke Møller Pedersen Set To Swim Packed Schedule In Ballerup

200 breaststroke world record holder Rikke Møller Pedersen is set to swim a long list of events at the Eastern Danish Long Course Championships in Ballerup. The competition will run from February 28th-March 2nd, in that time span Pedersen will compete in the 50, 100 and 200 breaststroke, the 50 and 100 backstroke and the 200 and 400 IM.

Pedersen is not the only member of the Danish World Championships team that will compete in the upcoming event. Jeanette Ottesen and Pernille Blume will have identical schedules competing in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle as well as the 50 and 100 butterfly.

Finally Danish swimming wakes up from winter hibernation, although we did recently have a very exicting age group team championships which I’m sure made Chris DeSantis very happy 🙂

RMP is actually entered in the 200 and 400 free as well, an almost Katinka-esque schedule.

On the same date we also have the West Denmark long course championships in Odense, featuring Mie Ø. Nielsen who is entered in the 50, 100 and 200 back, 200 and 400 free and 200 IM.

I would like to see Mie, RMP and Jeanette swimming more IMs than they do, they are all decent IM swimmers (by Danish standards anyway) and could push Katrine Holm Sørensen and Julie Aglund Lauridsen a bit more.… Read more »
