Repton Swimming is delighted to appoint John Adye to the post of Performance Coach from April 2021.

John joins Repton following seven years at Hillingdon SC as Head Coach where he was also appointed to the 2024 Swim England Coach programme. Prior to this, he had been Assistant Coach at City of Coventry SC. John will support Director of Swimming and double Olympian Scott Talbot in achieving Repton’s aim of becoming a nationally ranked UK club.

Scott Talbot, Director of Swimming, said: “John’s appointment ensures that Repton Swimming will be able to offer high quality coaching to a larger number of athletes as we continue to grow the club. It is important that each of our athletes has their individual developmental needs met within the greater team environment. It is through this approach that we can support athletes to achieve their swimming goals, whilst encouraging them to flourish in other areas of their lives”.

Repton Headmaster, Mr Mark Semmence, added: “This appointment is a significant indication of Repton’s ambition to provide the best possible coaching at every level. The addition of John to the Repton Swimming coaching team, led by international medal winning coach Scott Talbot, will further improve the outstanding level of coaching and support our athletes already receive. Repton is undoubtedly ready to take another huge leap forward as a club when swimming recommences.”

Despite pools currently being closed, Repton swimmers have benefitted from live virtual talks with inspiring swimming professionals including former British swimmer and 2019 Performance Coach of the Year, Melanie Marshall, and the world-renowned Olympic coach and former Head of GB Swimming, William Sweetenham.
