Philadelphia, PA — Quaker Swim Camps is proud to announce an upcoming Technical Development Clinic designed for competitive swimmers ages 9–14. Led by University of Pennsylvania Assistant Coaches and Camp Co-Directors Emma Sticklen and Andrew Abeysinghe, the camp provides an immersive and high-level training experience focused on mastering the three most decisive components of racing: starts, turns, and finishes.
This half-day clinic blends individualized technical feedback with collegiate-level instruction, giving athletes the opportunity to learn from two accomplished Division I coaches and current student-athletes. Swimmers will refine key race skills, gain deeper insight into training strategy, and participate in a post-session Q&A that covers topics such as race preparation, mental toughness, and the path to college swimming.
“Our goal is to give young athletes the tools and confidence to execute the little things that matter most in racing,” said Co-Director Emma Sticklen, a three-time NCAA Champion, NCAA record holder, and former U.S. National Team member. “Starts, turns, and finishes can define the outcome of a race, and this camp is built to help swimmers master those details.”
Co-Director and Assistant Coach Andrew Abeysinghe brings a deep background in technical skill instruction, collegiate coaching, and athlete development. His experience spans Division I programs, elite age-group coaching, and national-level skill clinics.
The camp is geared toward motivated swimmers who want to elevate their performance through focused, detail-driven technical work. With small-group instruction and direct access to Penn’s coaching staff, athletes will walk away with enhanced racing skills and a stronger understanding of how to take their performance to the next level.
