The 2025 Phill Hansel Invite is in the books. At the end of the meet, host-team Houston stood atop the team standings by a considerable margin.
The Cougars picked up a win in the 200 breast, where Flo Peter clocked a 2:10.92. That swim was 2 seconds off the 2:08.72 she swam at the Phill Hansel Invite last season, but she still managed to win the race last night.
Houston also won platform diving, seeing Michelle McLeod finish 1st with a score of 294.20.
Colorado State picked up a pair of wins on the night, starting with Tess Whineray taking the 200 back with a 1:53.36. That performance marks a new career best for Whineray.
Colorado State also earned the win in the 400 free relay, where Azalea Shepherd (50.34), Mia Axelman (49.90), Whineray (49.75), and Lexie Trietley (49.16) teamed up for a 3:19.15. It was an incredibly tight finish, as Liya Goupil (49.88), Sienna Bruner (49.65), Evelyn Entrekin (50.30), and Elizabeth Jimenez (49.37) came in 2nd for Houston with a 3:19.20, just 0.05 seconds behind CSU. Nevada was also in the mix, seeing Jinjutha Pholjamjumrus (51.06), Huska Batbayar (49.03), Scarlett Ferris (47.94), and Caitlin Wham (51.28) finish in 3:19.31.
Nevada had a pair of wins as well. Scarlett Ferris continued her exceptional meet with a 48.03 in the 100 free, which put her 1st into the finish by a second. That performance marks a new career best for Ferris.
Nevada also saw Jinjutha Pholjamjumrus take the 200 fly in 1:55.75, marking a new career best for the freshman.
Rice had a great showing in the 1650 free, where Ella Dyson won with a time of 16:22.18, leading teammate Ava Portello, who touched in 16:26.29.
