Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.
Pennsylvania high school state champion Sophia Sileo-Magliari has announced her verbal commitment to compete for Drexel University beginning in the fall of 2026.
“I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and athletic career at Drexel University. A huge thank you to my family, friends, and all of my coaches who helped and supported me throughout the years. I am grateful to Coach Nathan and Coach Erik for giving me this wonderful opportunity to compete at Drexel. GO DRAGONS”
Sileo-Magliari will be staying close to home next fall, as she is currently a senior at Upper Dublin High School in Fort Washington, PA, where she has been a member of the varsity swimming team since her freshman year. Sileo-Magliari also trains year-round with Upper Dublin Aquatic Club and primarily specializes in breast, fly and IM.
At the 2025 PIAA (Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association) 3A State Championships in March, Sileo-Magliari took home the championship title in the 100 breast in a lifetime best time of 1:02.04. She also helped her team to a 2nd-place finish in the 200 medley relay and a 3rd-place finish in the 200 free relay.
A few weeks later, Sileo-Magliari turned in a series of top performances at the Middle Atlantic Senior Championship. She took the runner-up spot in the 100 breast (1:02.70) and 200 breast (2:15.98 – PB), sliding under the Winter Juniors qualifying standard in both events. Sileo-Magliari helped Upper Dublin to a victory in both the 200 medley and 400 medley relays, racing the breaststroke leg on both relays and posting splits of 28.72 and 1:02.60, respectively. She also contested the 200 IM (2:13.40) and 50 free (25.27), adding time in both events.
Sileo-Magliari competed at the Futures Championship (LCM) in Madison over the summer, where she earned a second swim in three of her individual events. She placed 5th in the 50 breast (32.66 – PB), 6th in the 100 breast (1:11.93) and 9th in the 200 breast (2:36.76 – PB), clocking a Juniors cut in the 200 breast. She also raced the 50 fly (31.50 – PB) and 200 IM (2:33.76).
Best Times SCY
- 100 breast – 1:02.04
- 200 breast – 2:15.98
- 100 fly – 59.55
- 200 IM – 2:10.48
- 100 free – 54.50
A Division I Mid-Major program, Drexel competes in the Coastal Athletic Association, where the women’s team placed 6th out of nine schools at the CAA Championships last season. Based on the results from the 2025 championship, Sileo-Magliari would have landed in the ‘A’ final in the 100 breast and 200 breast, putting her in a position to score some points for the Dragons right from the start. On the team itself, Sileo-Magliari would have been Drexel’s fastest competitor in both the 100 and 200 breast last season and would have been the only Dragon to make it to the ‘A’ final at the conference championships in both events.
Sileo-Magliari is currently Drexel’s only confirmed women’s commit for the class of 2030, but there is still plenty of time for other recruits to join the rankings before fall 2026. Meanwhile, Devin Rothman has announced his commitment to join the men’s team beginning next fall.
