After posting the world’s second fastest 50 butterfly time Jeanette Ottesen did it again this time in the 100. Ottesen took the event at the Danish Open in a time of 57.23. Her time places her second in the world rankings with Sarah Sjostrom being the only swimmer to have gone faster recording a 56.58 earlier this year.

The 57.23 is the fifth fastest of her career and is a very strong performance for this time of year considering that she swum a 58.10 at this meet last year.
Louise Hansson finished second in a time of 58.81 which puts her 15th in the world rankings. Maria Ugolkova picked up the bronze in a time of 59.75.
Pawel Korzeniowski took the men’s event in a time of 52.42 which places him eighth in the world rankings. Viktor Bromer took the silver in a time of 52.72 followed by Jan Sefl who recorded a 53.70.
Hansson won the women’s 200 IM in a time of 2:12.72. This was a fantastic swim for Hansson whose best time coming into the competition was 2:14.11. Her time also places her ninth in the world rankings.
Barbora Zavadova took the silver in a time of 2:13.88 followed by Alicja Tchorz who finished third in a time of 2:16.46.
Jan Switkowski took the men’s event in a time of 2:03.93.
Mads Glaesner and Pal Joensen went head to head once again with Glaesner coming out on top in the men’s 400 freestyle. Glaesner posted a 3:49.94 followed by Joensen who recorded a 3:51.32. Wojciech Wojdak finished third in a time of 3:57.02.
The women’s 50 backstroke was a tight race between Alicja Tchorz and Julie Jensen. Tchorz took the event in a time of 29.12 followed by Jensen who recorded a 29.18. Eyglo Gustafsdottir, who broke the Nordic record in the 200 backstroke yesterday, finished third in a time of 29.31.
Francois Heerbrandt took the men’s event in a time of 25.74.
May Howardsen won the women’s 400 freestyle in a time of 4:17.33. The race for silver was an exciting one as Anina Lund came back from a two second deficit at the halfway mark to over take Julie Lauridsen. Lund recorded a 4:18.13 followed by Lauridsen who hit the wall in a time of 4:18.28.
