Olympic Champion Michael Andrew Ties the Knot with Wife Alexandra In Hawai’i

Olympic Gold Medalist Michael Andrew has tied the knot with his wife, Alexandra Andrew, in a private ceremony on the North Shore in Oahu, Hawai’i.

Andrew shared the occasion on Instagram with his bride and their intimate ceremony with family.

Andrew’s wife, Alexandra, also shared photos of the special day, captioning her post with the creative line of “Happily ever Andrew”.

Andrew, 27, made the full-time move to Hawai’i in December, rejoining his longtime coach and father, Peter Andrew. Prior to the move, Andrew had moved to Tempe, Arizona, training with the Arizona State pro group under head coach Herbie Behm.

Since the move back, Andrew has seen some of his best results in years. including a 26.75 50 breaststroke at the Pro Swim Series in Indianapolis, marking his fastest performance in the event since 2022. He currently sits in a tie for 12th in the world this season in the event with China’s Qin Haiyang.

Andrew explained his move to Hawai’i and rejoining his father a few months back on the Night Swim Podcast, including the initial move away from his father in the first place, saying that after he missed out on the 2024 Paris Olympic team, he felt “emotionally distraught,” which then led him down a path of needing to train with someone. The time they spent apart was what Andrew called a needed “season of separation”.

Andrew then made the move back to his father’s coaching, citing the environment as a major factor, joking that he loves to surf and be out in the sun rather than the more desert atmosphere of Arizona.

Last summer, Andrew made the 2025 World Championships team by finishing 2nd in the men’s 50 breast (26.92) and 50 fly (23.21) at the U.S. National Championships, also earning himself a spot on the 2026 Pan Pacific Championships roster, which will take place in a month in Irvine, California.
