Andrew Dodd Lazar, a swim coach with the FAST Swim Team in Ocala, Florida, has been arrested on 22 felony charges of possession and distribution of child pornography. Lazar is 20 years old.
According to Marion County Sherriff’s office records, Lazar was arrested on April 2 and released on bond on April 4. 20 charges of possession of child pornography include a $20,000 bond each, while two charges of distribution of child pornography carry a $40,000 bond each.
The offenses are all labeled as having occurred on January 8, 2026.
Lazar has worked at FAST since he was in high school in May 2022, according to his LinkedIn page, starting as a lifeguard before becoming an assistant swim coach in September 2024. He also spent six months as an assistant swim coach at the YMCA of Springfield in Springfield, Ohio from September 2023 until February 2024.
The page says that he has been a USA Swimming coach since May 2022.
Lazar does not appears in the U.S. Center for SafeSport database.
UPDATE:
FAST has put out an FAQ for parents confirming that Lazar no longer works at FAST.
They also said that they do not believe that any athletes from FAST were involved.
“It is important to note that according to the Probable Cause Affidavit, written by the Detective who interviewed Mr. Lazar and who we understand is conducting the investigation, Mr. Lazar allegedly purchased pornographic photos and videos and downloaded them on his personal cell phone. The Affidavit mentions that his phone was given to the Detective. Significantly, there are no allegations that Mr. Lazar touched any child from FAST nor does Mr. Lazar admit that he touched any child. In addition, according to the Affidavit, the only photos he possessed of FAST kids were ones taken from public Instagram websites and are not nude or sexual. The Affidavit also confirms that the photos on his phone were not shared with anyone at FAST.”

Second, it feels like FAST can’t catch a break. Beautiful facility in an underserved location. Coach turnover seems insane.
