STATESBORO, Ga. – North Florida swimming came from behind to take first and third in the 400 free relay to complete the season sweep of Georgia Southern Saturday.

200 Free: 1st – Ashley Cozad (1:58.22), 2nd – Ryan Showfety (1:58.93), 3rd – Mary-Kate Wichalonis (1:58.94)
50 Free: 2nd – Camryn Greenleaf (24.60), 3rd – Zoe Trenz (25.00)
400 IM: 1st – Makenzie Blaakman (4:40.09), 3rd – Ally Schillinger (4:44.83)
200 Fly: 1st – Sydney Groth (2:06.03), 3rd – Sydney Sheppard (2:12.24)
100 Free: 1st – Camryn Greenleaf (53.36), 3rd – Esther Quackenbush (54.27)
200 Back: 1st – Annie Fletcher (2:08.24), 2nd – Manuela Barres (2:09.08)
200 Breast: 3rd – Sarah Joram (2:30.42)
400 Relay: 1st – Greenleaf, Cozad, Trenz, Jacqueline Barklund (3:36.93), 3rd – Showfety, Fletcher, Blaakman, Wichalonis (3:42.89)

Of Note
– The first-place free relay swam the third fastest time of the year, while the third place was just behind with the fifth best time of the year.
– Greenleaf has now swam a 24.60 three times this season in the 50 free. In the 100 free, she owns four of the top six times on the UNF top times this season.
– In the 200 back, Barres swam her fourth fastest time of the season and bested her previous time against the Eagles by a full second.
– Groth swam her second fastest time of the season in the 200 fly.
– In the 400 IM, Blaakman made another mark in the top 10 list this season, while Schillinger put up the ninth best time this year.

STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Swimming lost their final home meet of the season by just nine points to North Florida on Saturday. The final score was 120-111 despite the Eagles winning five of the 11 swimming events.

The meet began with two wins for Georgia Southern with a first-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay by Elizabeth ChemeyIsabelle BrayJessica Ware and Holland Danskin (1:52.84) and another one in the 1000 Free by Klaudia Holt (10:45.00)

The Eagles came back and won the fourth event, the 50 Free, thanks to Melissa Cox (24.12).

Holt also won the 500 Free with a time of 5:12.52 and Bray claimed the last win of the meet for the Eagles in the 200 Breast (2:27.47).

The Eagles’ four seniors – Chemey, Markie DuffyAshley Kubel and Gretchen Mossburg – were honored during the meet.

“I am so proud of how hard are women competed today,” said head coach Amanda Caldwell. “It was a team effort and what a way to send our seniors out with a close meet coming down to the last races.”

Next Saturday, Jan. 18, the Eagles will host their Diving Invitational at 11 a.m.

And to think last year Georgia Southern beat UNF by almost 100 points… UNF has come a long way! Georgia Southern had diving points too while North Florida did not.
