(NLI Photos) FIU signs in-state backstroker Pettinger

Florida International University has signed backstroker Julianna Pettinger, keeping the high school senior in-state for next season.

Pettinger will swim primarily backstroker and sprint freestyle for the Panthers. Swimming for Julington Creek Loggerhead Aquatics, Pettinger has put up best times of 56.18 in the 100 back and 24.58 in the 50 free. She can also swim the butterfly races at a high level, and should help FIU fill out its lineup wherever neccessary.
