New Mexico’s Alan Senn Signs with Wayland Baptist

Alan Senn of Volcano Vista High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, has signed to compete for Wayland Baptist’s swimming and diving program beginning with the 2017-18 academic year. Senn is being groomed as a distance swimmer; WBU head coach Alyson Hannan plans for his role with the Pioneers to be focused on the longer events, including the 500 and 1650 freestyles as well at the 200 and 400 individual medleys.

“Alan is going to help us immediately at the national level. He already has national time standards,” Hannan said. “Our focus for when Alan gets here is going to be improving his distance time so that we can put him in a scoring spot in his events.

“Alan is a much-needed recruit for us on the distance level.”

Senn swims year-round with Charger Aquatics. His best times include:

  • 500 free – 4:58
  • 1650 free – 17:00
  • 400 IM – 4:28

“We are very excited to welcome Alan to the WBU swimming family,” Hannan said. Senn is the second recruit of the season for the Pioneer swimming and diving team, joining Daric Sundeen of Golden, Colo. Sundeen is a flyer, also specializing in backstroke and freestyle.
