Nebraska’s Noah Barr Gives Verbal Pledge to Miami RedHawks

Noah Barr from Papillion, Nebraska has verbally committed to Miami (OH) University for 2017-18.

“Miami has a new coaching staff that I think is going to do great things. My future plans are working in the business world and they have a great business school. I love their campus and felt very comfortable there.”

Barr is a senior at Papillion-La Vista South High School. At the 2016 Nebraska State High School Championships in February, he tallied points for Papillion-La Vista South with a third in the 200 IM (1:55.08) and 100 breast (58.06), and contributed to the runner-up 200 free relay with a 21.91 leadoff, and the runner-up 400 free relay with a 47.10 anchor.

Barr does his year-round swimming with Sarpy County Swim Club. He updated nearly all of his long course meters times over the summer, wrapping up the season with a strong showing at Columbia Sectionals. Barr is the product of two college swimmers: his mother swam at Southern Illinois and his father, at Stanford.

Barr’s best times:

  • 100 breast – 58.01
  • 200 breast – 2:08.15
  • 200 IM – 1:55.03
  • 50 free – 21.77
  • 100 free – 48.05

Barr will begin his collegiate career in the Miami University class of 2021 with fellow-commit Blake Brockman.
