Mount Hood Breast/IMer Kyla Penrod Gives Verbal to College of Idaho

Mount Hood Aquatics swimmer Kyla Penrod announced via Twitter her intention to swim for The College of Idaho next fall.

Penrod swims for Sam Barlow High School, and at the 2016 OSAA 6A Swimming State Championships last February, she swam the leadoff leg on her team’s 400 free relay. Her best events, however, are 100/200 breast and 200 IM.

  • 100 breast – 1:08.32
  • 200 breast – 2:27.61
  • 200 IM – 2:18.53

The College of Idaho finished tenth at last year’s NAIA Nationals, right in the middle of a protracted battle for 9-10-11 among Brenau, TCOI, and Saint Andrew’s. Penrod would have scored points in the B finals of both the 100/200 breaststrokes for the Yotes.
