Missouri adds Jack Brown, Christine Mable to Coaching Staff

The University of Missouri has announced the hiring of Jack Brown and Christine Mable as assistant coaches with the program. They replace outgoing coaches John Pontz (the associate head coach) and Kristen Pritchett.

The current Missouri staff:

Greg Rhodenbaugh Head Coach
James Sweeney Head Diving Coach
Jack Brown Assistant Coach
Mark Gangloff Assistant Coach
Andrew Grevers Assistant Coach
Christine Mabile Assistant Coach
Allie Sullins Director of Operations

A former All-American at Arizona (where Rhodenbaugh coached before he was at Missouri), Brown has been a volunteer assistant with the Tigers for 4 seasons while working with the University of Missouri-based Columbia Swim Club. As an athlete, he was 3rd in the 400 IM at the 2009 USA Swimming National Championship meet, just missing a spot at the World Championships. Brown is currently working toward a PhD in Sports Psychology at Missouri.

“We are excited to be able to bring Jack on full time with our staff,” Rhodenbaugh said. “His experience as an athlete and coach at the highest levels of our sport will continue to be an incredible asset to our student-athletes and our program here at Mizzou.”

Mabile comes to the staff after 5 years as the head coach at NAIA program the College of Idaho. She leaves there as the winningest coach in program history, which includes four-straight top-15 finishes at the NAIA National Championship meet.

“Christine’s head coaching experience of both men and women by herself at the College of Idaho will bring a lot of experience to our pool deck,” Rhodenbaugh said. “She is excited to be back at the Division I level and can’t wait to dig in here at Mizzou.”

Before the College of Idaho, Mabile was a 4-year volunteer assistant at her alma mater, Boise State, including during their 2010 and 2011 WAC Championship seasons.

One is switching things up and moving on from coaching (personal and completely unrelated to anything with Mizzou), and the other is moving because of their SO’s job.
