OLY Swimming’s Ben Luginski has verbally committed to the University of Michigan for the Wolverine men’s 2027 recruiting class.

Luginski ended his 2025 summer campaign with a bang at the MCSA Summer Senior Cup Championships (SCY) in early August. He set a trio of lifetime bests, including the 100 free (45.72), 200 free (1:38.27), and 100 back (49.97) at the meet, setting himself up nicely for the 2025-26 short course season.
The Michigan native also set a slew of best times at the 2025 NCSA Spring Championship this past March, producing lifetime bests in the 50 free (21.24), 500 free (4:32.89), 50 back (23.82), and 200 back (1:49.86).
Last season, Luginski was named to his first USA Swimming Scholastic All-American Team.

The Wolverines finished as the runners-up to Indiana at the 2025 Men’s Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships last season.
Based on Luginski’s current best times, he would have finished 40th in the 100 free, 32nd in the 200 free, and 39th in the 500 free.
Luginski is still two years out from making his collegiate debut, giving him plenty of time to still creep into that scoring potential for the Wolverines. All of his best times in his primary events have come in 2025, showing a promising improvement curve.
He will join a very deep Michigan team that would have had him as the 15th fastest performer a season ago in the 200 free and 500 free.
Luginski will join Boone Wilcox, Allen Gyang, Charles Howard, and Anthony Dornoff in the Wolverines’ 2027 recruiting class.
