The LSU women’s swimming and diving team (2-1) will travel to New Orleans on Saturday to square off against Tulane at the Reily Natatorium at 11 a.m.

The swimming team is fresh off a second-place finish overall at the Art Adamson Invitational where a total of 11 swimmers improved their personal bests at the meet. Colleen O’Neil broke the all-time school record in the 200 breaststroke and also tallied a third place overall finish in the 100 breaststroke at 1:00.45, holding the 19th best time in Division I.
Kara Kopcso secured Division I top-20 times in the 200 and 100 fly, tallying finishes of 1.58.50 and 52.90 that are good for 15th and 19th respectfully. In the 100 free and 50 free, Leah Troskot also holds the 22nd and 19th best times in Division I, touching the wall at 48.90 and 22.39 in the events.
Haylee Knight also added her name to the school record books, posting three top-10 times in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly at the meet.
“I’m anxious to see what our women have tomorrow,” said head swimming coach Dave Geyer. “We don’t typically race after the holiday, so factor in a crazy schedule during that time and their focus with finals next week, and this will tell me more about how they are mentally than they are physically.”
For the diving squad, Lizzie Cui tallied finishes of second and third on the three-meter and one-meter respectively at the Mizzou Diving Invite. Her score of 350.70 on three-meter is a personal best and good for third on the women’s all-time list.
Rileigh Knox had a strong showing at the Mizzou Diving Invite, earning two finals trips after top-12 finishes in one-meter and three-meter preliminaries. Knox also finished eighth overall on platform, posting a score of 221.95.
“Coming off a midseason meet and the success we had at Missouri (Diving Invite), we’re looking to grow and develop on that,” said head diving coach Doug Shaffer. “We fined tuned some details coming off of that meet, and we’re looking to showcase some of Louisiana’s best swimming and diving. We look forward to competing in our home state against a good opponent.”
