Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sprint freestyle and butterfly ace Aidan Kaplan announced his verbal commitment to the University of Louisville for the fall of 2026.

“I’m super excited and grateful to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Louisville! I want to thank all of my family, friends, and my club coaches that have been by my side through this process as well as the coaches at Louisville for this opportunity. Go Cards!”

Kaplan has made his way up the ranks in the Chicago area as a member of NASA Wildcat Aquatics. He attended Lane Tech College Prep High School, giving the school a 2nd place finish at the 2025 IHSA State Championships in the 50 free (20.44) as well as a 4th place 100 fly (48.37).

His 2025 high school performance exemplifies the massive strides he made during his junior year. Before earning runner-up and 4th in 2025, he placed 31st and 38th in the same events at the 2024 IHSA State Champs.

With his club team, one of Kaplan’s best performances came from the 2025 NCSA Spring Championship. Kaplan made the 50 free A final with a 20.02 and B finals in the 100 free (45.21), 50 fly (22.13), and 100 fly (48.98).

In addition to his individual experience, Kaplan has been on a number of successful relays with NASA, a silver medal club. The team got three top 3 placings at NCSA’s, highlighted by a 200 medley victory with Kaplan’s 19.48 anchor. He also split 51.03 in a LCM 100 free this summer, helping NASA win Madison Futures in the 400 free relay. This relay experience bodes well for his college career.

Kaplan’s Best SCY Times

  • 50 free: 20.02
  • 100 free: 45.21
  • 100 fly: 48.37
  • 200 free: 1:39.74
  • 200 fly: 1:49.70

In Louisville, Kaplan will be joining Arthur Albiero’s deep sprint and butterfly groups. His times in his best events are not yet at the Cardinals’ top scoring echelon. They could be, though, with improvement over the next two years. For example, Kaplan dropped 1.4 in his 50 free from sophomore to junior year, and he’s .6 away from the 50 free final cut-off at 2025 ACCs.

Louisville placed 14th at the 2025 Men’s NCAA Championships. Apart from Kaplan, their class of 2030 contingent includes Kentucky-native Chase Knopf and distance swimmers Lucas Joe and Dillon Brigman.
