I heard Lochte say that he thought he would be a better swim coach than a swimmer. No way. He was too good of a swimmer

Anyone have any idea when they plan on releasing Olympic trial qualifying times? Or if the 50s will have their own cuts yet?

2024 trials was released late may of 2022 so I would have to assume very very soon.

Trials qualifying times should be released in the fall, 2026. The qualifying period will begin with the US Open in December, 2026. Haven’t heard anything more on the 50’s other than what is already out there for qualifying.

Fellas on the podcast – just a *little* too much salivating over Lochte. Sure, it’s news. And he’s a huge name as a swimmer. But to quote a famous coach:

He ain’t dun nothin yet.

Swimswam, can we get an update on Urlando’s whereabouts? I have reason to believe he’s back home in CA and that seems like a lot for a “minor” injury

Few thoughts- Aikins was third in both 100/200 in Indy and made the World Championships last year; so yeah definitely a good shot. Wilkening was 43.9 and if he can translate to lcm he will definitely be in contention for a final at trials at the least. As for Ray- hes been injured/sick the past 2 summers so nobody really knows what he can do, it’ll be interesting to see but im never gonna count out a 43.3/1:38 200 flyer with Bowman even if we do have Ilya/Luca.

He’s really good UW so it’ll be interesting to see if he’s as good actually swimming fly rather than kicking.
