Before USA Swimming even had the chance to ratify their last record in the event, the King Aquatic Club 11-12 boys have re-broken their own National Age Group Record in the 200 yard medley relay on Wednesday at the PNS Short Course Championships.

The team of Tyler LuAlex FloresAaron Nguyen, and Ethan Dang combined for a 1:44.54, which is faster than the 1:44.97 that they went in the same Federal Way, Washington pool on December 1st.

That wasn’t even the most recent breaking of this mark. Last week, at the Tom Dolan Invitational, NCAP swam a 1:44.74.

In this relay, Nguyen took the spot of Jake Rinehart on the fly leg. The comparative splits (old KING record/new KING record):

  • Lu, back – 28.73/27.67
  • Flores, breast – 27.80/27.68
  • Rinehart/Nguyen, fly – 26.23/26.85
  • Dang, free – 22.21/22.34

This relay was again anchored by Ethan Dang, the fastest 11-12 breaststroker in history who showed off his freestyle abilities as well.

The old record of 1:46.05 was set by Tualatin Hills earlier this year.
