Katie Hoff Scratched 200, 400 Freestyles Due To Bad Intercostal Strain

Katie Hoff has scratched two of her four events this week at Nationals. Coming into the meet, Hoff was entered in the 100, 200, and 400 freestyles as well as the 200 IM. The only event she has competed in this week is the 100 freestyle, where she finished 27th overall with a time of 55.79. She scratched the 200 and 400 freestyles.

This is her first US National Championship meet since making her comeback. This afternoon she tweeted, giving us insight about why she hasn’t been swimming all of her events this week.

Hopefully she will be able to swim the 200 IM tomorrow. She is the fifth seed coming into the meet and has her best shot at making the Pan Pacs team in this event.

After her initial tweet, she again tweeted saying, “Praying it feels healthy enough to allow me to swim 200 I’m tomorrow!”
