Position Overview
Crawfish Aquatics, the premier swim program in Louisiana, is seeking a Senior Coach to lead and develop athletes within our top training groups.
This position operates within a collaborative leadership structure, working directly with and for the Head Senior Coach, while contributing to the broader organizational vision under the guidance of the CEO and CFO. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, athlete-centered leader who thrives in a high-performance environment and is capable of developing swimmers from high school contributors to Sectional, Futures, and National-level athletes.
Key Responsibilities
High Performance Coaching
- Lead daily senior-level training sessions with a focus on:
- Advanced stroke mechanics
- Race strategy and execution
- Energy system development
- Championship preparation
- Prepare athletes for LSC, Zone and Sectional competitions
Athlete Development & Progression
- Develop athletes across multiple levels within the senior pathway:
- High school varsity contributors
- State, Zone and Sectional qualifiers
- Create and monitor individualized athlete development plans
- Utilize performance data, race analysis, and training metrics to guide progression
- Build athlete accountability, ownership, and leadership within the group
Culture & Standards
- Foster a disciplined, positive, and athlete-centered training environment
- Uphold and reinforce Crawfish Aquatics’ standards for:
- Attendance and commitment
- Effort and preparation
- Team-first mentality
- Contribute to a culture that balances high expectations with long-term development
Staff Collaboration & Leadership
- Work closely with the Head Senior Coach to execute program vision
- Collaborate with age group and senior staff to ensure seamless athlete progression
- Assist in mentoring and developing assistant coaches
- Contribute to program-wide planning, innovation, and continuous improvement
Communication
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with:
- Athletes
- Parents
- Coaching staff
- Provide regular updates on athlete progress and expectations
- Represent Crawfish Aquatics with professionalism both on and off deck
Operations & Meet Management
- Plan and manage meet entries, travel, and competition schedules
- Attend and actively coach at all assigned competitions
- Lead pre-meet preparation and post-race analysis
- Utilize team management systems (e.g., SportsEngine, HyTek)
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain all required USA Swimming certifications and credentials
- Ensure full compliance with SafeSport policies
- Promote and maintain a safe, professional training environment
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience coaching competitive swimmers (senior-level preferred)
- Demonstrated success in developing swimmers to State, Zone, Sectional, or higher levels
- Strong technical knowledge of stroke mechanics, training progression, and race strategy
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, multi-site program
Preferred:
- Experience working within a large club environment
- Proven ability to contribute to staff development and program growth
- Pool Operations knowledge and experience
