BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Gardner-Webb swimming graduate student Seggio Bernardina is set to compete in the 15th FINA World Swimming Championships (25m), which will take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates at Etihad Arena from Thursday, December 16 to Tuesday, December 21.

Bernardina will be swimming the 100-meter freestyle, 50-meter freestyle, and 100-meter butterfly at Worlds, and will represent his homeland of Curaçao.

Bernardina is no stranger to one of the world’s biggest stages in swimming, as he has competed at the 2017 FINA World Junior Swimming Championships (Indianapolis, Indiana), the 2018 14th Fina World Championships (Hangzhou, China), and the 2019 18th FINA World Championships (Gwanju, South Korea).

“The Coaches and I have been grinding the whole year and I’m excited to see it all pay off,” said Seggio Bernardina. “Also, I’m excited to represent ‘Korsou’ and Gardner-Webb all the way in Abu Dhabi.”
