Fu Yuanhui Takes Second Gold At Chinese National Championships

After collecting a win the 50 backstroke on the second night of competition at the Chinese National Swimming Championships in Huangshan Fu Yuanhui returned to the pool today to win the women’s 100 backstroke with ease. Fu posted a time of 1:00.43 to win the event by almost a second, but was a long way off her season’s best of 59.36 which she swam in September and is currently the fifth fastest time in the world.

In the men’s 100 backstroke Xu Jiayu took the event in a time of 53.61, just off of his season’s best of 53.43 which is currently ranked 10th in the world. Xu dominated the race winning by almost two full seconds.

Yesterday He Yun was victorious in the women’s 100 breaststroke and came away from tonight’s final with a win in the 200 meter distance posting a time of 2:29.19 just ahead of Shi Jinglin who finished second in a time of 2:29.39.

3. Cheng Haihua, Beijing, 1:01.73

Men’s 100m freestyle:

1. Lou Junyi, Zhejiang, 50.34

2. Liu Junwu, Bayi, 50.46

3. Liu Zhaochen, Beijing, 50.58

Women’s 400m freestyle:

1. Bi Yirong, Zhejiang, 4:09.41

2. Zhang Yufei, Jiangsu, 4:11.71

3. Yan Siyu, Bayi, 4:11.74

Men’s 100m butterfly:

1. Wang Shun, Zhejiang, 53.09

2. Wang Pudong, Chinese Navy, 54.03

3. Mao Feilian, Zhejiang, 54.08

Women’s 200m breaststroke:

1. He Yun, Shaanxi, 2:29.19

2. Shi Jinglin, Jiangsu, 2:29.39

3. Wu Yuzhe, Zhejiang, 2:32.76

Men’s 100m backstroke:

1. Xu Jiayu, Zhejiang, 53.61
