FRESNO, Calif. – The Pacific men’s swimming and diving program was defeated by Fresno Pacific, 148-129, in a dual meet on Saturday at the Fresno State Aquatics Center.
The Tigers claimed second in both the 200 medley relay (1:35.99) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:10.05).
On a day of season-bests, Pacific claimed victories in the 1000 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 200 butterfly, 200 backstroke, 500 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
Freshman Richard Lewis had a stellar day, winning both the 1000 free and the 500 free with season-best times of 9:53.69 and 4:45.49, respectively. David Noyes finished second in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.08, while also claiming second in the 200 free (1:44.96) third in the 100 free (47.90).
The Tigers finished 1-2-3 in the 200 free, led by junior Michael Kang with a season-best time of 1:43.03. Sean Remmert was third with a season-best mark of 1:46.11. Kang’s day was rounded out with two more first place finishes, in the 100 fly (50.90, SB) and the 200 fly (1:54.87).
Jonathan Tan put forth his best performances this season with three season-bests in the 100 fly (52.36), 200 fly (1:57.47), and the 200 IM (1:56.38).
Another event winner was Walker Wilson, who placed first with a time of 1:55.55 in the 200 back. He also produced a third place time of 52.98 in the 100 back. Both times were season-bests for the freshman from Tulsa, Okla.
Erik Clemensen also collected two 2019 bests with his second place finish in the 50 free (21.76) and his third place finish in the 200 breaststroke (2:15.75).
Noah Snyder was the Tigers top finisher in the 100 breast (1:00.77).

The Tigers will be returning to action on Dec. 15, when they travel to Las Vegas, Nev. for the UNLV Invite.
FRESNO, Calif. – The Pacific women’s swimming and diving program finished the day with a split, defeating Fresno Pacific, 175-103, while falling to Fresno State, 201-90, at the Bulldog-hosted Tri Meet on Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers 400 freestyle relay team, which included Allie Emery, Taylor Hosmer, Kathleen Gani, and Erin Oliphant, finished second with a time of 3:35.21.
Angela Gagliardo had a stellar day, finishing third with a personal-best time of 1:56.13 in the 200 free, while also registering as the Tigers top finisher in the 200 breaststroke (3rd, 2:22.48) and the 200 individual medley (2nd, 2:09.24).
Brigid McNally claimed second place finishes in the 1000 free (10:37.20) and the 500 free (5:04.32), while also finishing third in the 200 IM (2:11.66).
In the sprints, Allie Emery was the top finisher for the Tigers, earning fourth in the 50 free (24.28) and third in the 100 free (53.65).
Senior Taylor Hosmer had a second place finish in the 200 free with a time of 1:55.24, while fellow senior Erin Oliphant had a season-best mark of 1:57.27 in the event. Hosmer also claimed third in the 500 free (5:13.90) and sixth in the 100 free (54.70).
Another top finisher for the Tigers was Gisel Olvera, who finished with a team-best of fourth in the 200 fly (2:10.83) and the 200 IM (2:14.00). Olvera’s best finish came in the 100 fly, where she captured third with a time of 1:00.28.
Jessica Clark just missed a season-best mark with a 1:01.79 sixth place finish in the 100 backstroke. Clark was second in the 200 back (2:10.41) and fifth in the 200 IM (2:17.37).
Rounding out Pacific’s top swimmers of the day were Elina Rosario, who captured third in the 100 breast (1:05.32) and fourth in the 200 breast (2:24.06). Kathleen Gani was second in the 100 fly (58.24).
A final personal best came from Vivian Truong, who clocked a time of 2:25.25 in the 200 fly.
The Tigers will be returning to action on Dec. 15, when they travel to Las Vegas, Nev. for the UNLV Invite.

FRESNO, CALIF. – The Sunbirds traveled just a few miles down the road to Fresno State to participate in the Fresno-Tri Meet including Fresno State, Fresno Pacific and Pacific.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Women
- Arianne Kooijinga won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.19 and came in second with a time of 57.46 in the 100-yard backstroke.
- Olga Tovstogan placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.29) and in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:18.76).
- Heather Hutchinson took third in one-meter diving with a score of 193.50. and in the three-meter diving 204.45.
- Ioanna Palla finished third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:11.60.
Men
- The 200- yard medley relay team consisting of Iskender Baslakov, Denisz Der, Kirill Baron, and Dmitry Belolipetskiy took first with a time of 1:31.68.
- Oleksandr Ivakin won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.48 and Kirill came in third at 21.82.
- Hunter Cole won the one-meter diving with a score of 141.90 and the three-meter diving with a score of 162.00.
- Luke Landis took second in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:03.78.) and the 200-yard backstroke (2:03.43).
- Iskender won the 100-yard backstroke (50.52) while Kirill came in shortly after him in second place (52.10).
- Denisz won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.09 and Dmitry placed second with a time of 1:00.40.
- Der won the 200-yard breaststroke (2:04.61) and Dylan Sewell took second (2:09.40).
- Dmitry won the 100-yard freestyle (46.65) and Iskender took second (47.01).
- Dylan Sewell took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.18.
- The team of Iskender, Oleksandr, Dmitry, and Seth Nabors took second in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:10.11.

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State swimming and diving team posted wins against Fresno Pacific and Pacific in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon in the Aquatics Center. The Bulldogs had a dominant day – recording a 192-75 victory over the Sunbirds and a 186-88 win over the Tigers.
“We’re really excited about our performance today because we haven’t had a lot of dual meets,” said head coach Jeanne Fleck. “This was only our second dual of the season. This was a great meet to see where we are at. We had our whole team healthy to compete today, so it was a fun meet.”
Fresno State sealed the victories by taking the top spot in 14 out of 16 events in pool, as well as the top spot on both boards.
The Bulldogs improve to 2-1 this season.
SWIMMING HIGHLIGHTS
- In the 200-yard medley relay, Fresno State placed first (Clayson, Mendolichhio, Harbert, Cutler) with a time of 1:45.68 and second (Moers, Ridenour, Bowen, Guryeva) with a time of 1:47.25.
- In the 1000 yard freestyle, Fresno State placed two of the top three, in first place was Darina Khisiamova with a time of 10:16.94 and in third place was Marissa Johnson with a time of 10:45.18.
- In the 200 yard freestyle, Megan Bowen took 1st place with a time of 1:53.51.
- In the 100 yard backstroke, Fresno State took two of the top three positions, with Athena Clayson in first place with a time of 55.81 and Emily Cutler in 3rd place with a time of 57.77.
- In the 100 yard breaststroke, Manuela Mendolicchio took first with a time of 1:04.03.
- In the 200 yard butterfly, Fresno State swept the event with Darina Khisiamova in first place with a time of 2:06.81, Mackenzie Hutler in second with a time of 2:08.90, and Maya Gulvady in third with a time of 2:09.42.
- In the 50 yard freestyle, Fresno State placed two of the top three, with Anna Moers in second place with a time of 24.26 and Allie Emery in third place with a time of 24.28.
- In the 100 yard freestyle, Fresno State placed in the top two, with Athena Clayson in first place with a time of 52.38 and in second place was Megan Bowen with a time of 52.87.
- In the 200 yard backstroke, Emily Cutler came in first place with a time of 2:03.49.
- In the 200 yard breaststroke, Manuela Mendolicchio took first place with a time of 2:15.01.
- In the 500 yard freestyle, Eydis Kolbeinsdottir placed first with a time of 5:04.23.
- In the 100 yard butterfly, Kimberly Harbert came in first place with a time of 56.53.
- In the 200 yard IM, Darina Khisiamova took first place with a time of 2:07.96.
- In the 400-yard freestyle relay, Fresno State took first place (Cutler, Moers, Clayson, Bowen) with a time of 3:31.09.
DIVING HIGHLIGHTS
- Fresno State placed three of the top four. Yuliya Tykha was first with a score of 302.40, followed by Irna Nikolaeva in second with a score of 262.05, and Madison Deruyter in fourth with a score of 199.58.
WHAT’S NEXT
Fresno State will travel to compete in the SMU Invitational from Nov. 21 through Nov. 23. The Bulldogs will return home on Saturday, Dec. 14 to host CSU Bakersfield in the Aquatics Center at 12 p.m. PT.
