Florida Native Madison Jean Commits To Florida Gulf Coast

Incoming high school Senior Madison Jean has verbally committed to remain in her home state and swim for Florida Gulf Coast University. Jean currently swims for the Sarasota YMCA Sharks and excels as a sprint butterflier and freestyler.

“I’m excited for my future at FGCU and feel like it’s a perfect fit for me training and swimming wise. It’s an amazing program and I’m so glad to be apart of it soon!” – Madison Jean

Jean attends Lakewood Ranch Senior High School and is a member of the class of 2016. She is expected to join the Eagles in the fall of 2016. With best times of 54.27 in the 100 butterfly and 52.12 in the 100 freestyle, she will add depth to the Gulf Coast roster and be an immediate scorer at the conference level.

Over the last two years, Jean has earned two runner up finishes in the finals of the women’s 100 butterfly at the Florida High School 3A State Championships. She will be aiming for her first individual state title this season.

Florida Gulf Coast is coming off of their best season in program history after finishing 26th in the nation. Additionally, FGCU head coach Neal Studd was named SwimSwam’s honorable mention Coach of the Year.
