Florida Adds Uruguayan World Championship Qualifier to 2013-2014 Roster

In Gregg Troy’s latest weekly media press conference as the team prepares for this weekend’s SMU Invitational in Dallas, Gregg Troy talks about the rest of the spring semester as the team heads toward SEC’s and NCAA’s.

The best piece of ‘hard news’ that comes out of Troy’s latest press conference is the addition of Enzo Martinez-Scarpe of Uruguay for the spring semester.

Scarpe has maybe a small chance of impacting the team’s performance in championship this season (he could score a few points individually at SEC’s), his future is bright, and he should have the national support of being one of his home country’s top swimmers.

Martinez-Scarpe represented Uruguay at the 2013 World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, swimming the 100 free. The 19-year old swam a 51.77 to place 45th overall at that meet, which converts to right around a 45.1 in yards.
