“I’m so excited to be a Drexel Dragon! Ultimately, I fell in love with Philadelphia, Drexel’s CoOp Program, and I am super impressed with Coach Braun and his young, motivated, fun TEAM. I’d like to also express my appreciation to all of the coaches I spoke to that made the recruiting process such a great experience….and a special thanks to the coaches at Rice, Florida International, and the University of San Diego that invited me to learn more about their great swim programs! It’s great to be back in the pool training hard again after not competing for six months due to an extended illness. I’m looking forward to getting healthier, stronger, and faster over the next year so that I can help Drexel’s sprint team compete at the championship level next fall. Go Dragons!”

Minnetonka Swim Club’s Tru Walor has committed to swim for Drexel University for 2016-17 and beyond. A senior at Minnetonka High School, Walor has been an integral part of the successful swimming and diving program at MHS. At the MSHSL Class AA Girls’ Swimming & Diving Championships last November she placed eighth in the 100 free and 15th in the 100 back; she also swam on both the Skippers’ 200 and 400 free relays. Next weekend Walor will represent Minnetonka in the 50 free and 100 free at the state meet.

Most of Walor’s best times come from her freshman and sophomore years of high school:

  SCY LCM
50 free 24.19 27.57
100 free 51.59 1:00.08
200 free 1:55.25 2:14.34
50 back 27.27 31.45r
100 back 58.17 1:06.78
200 back 2:11.55 2:29.15

Although the Colonial Athletic Association only swims two heats in finals, Walor is already close to scoring for Drexel in the 100 free and 100 back. Walor will join Alexa Kutch and Kaitlin Perni in the Drexel class of 2020.
