The Panthers of Wisconsin-Milwaukee announced today that Dave Joyce has been promoted to a full-time assistant coach of the men’s and women’s program, after two years as a part-time assistant.

He replaces Brittany Sayler, who took the assistant coaching at North Texas earlier this summer.

Between the two programs, UW-Milwaukee has three Horizon League Championships in the two years, thanks in no-small part to the contributions of All-American Emily McClellan, who will be a senior next season.

Other jobs on his resume including 9 years as the head coach for the YMCA at Pabst Farms, where he put two swimmers into the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Prior to that, he was the head senior coach for the Lake County Swim Team, and placing one swimmer on the 2002 National Junior Team. Almost all of his coaching experience has been in Wisconsin.

The Milwaukee men placed 2nd at last year’s Horizon League Championships, and their women took the title. See the 2013 Horizon League Championship results here.

I had the pleasure to be coached by Dave and to out fish him over the years! He is an outstanding coach and friend. I wish him and the Panthers good luck this upcoming season. The program couldn’t have made a better selection!!
