Daria Klepikova Swims 25.81 to Win 50 Fly on Final Day of Russian Swimming Cup

The final day of the 2026 Russian Swimming Cup wrapped up on Tuesday night in Saint Petersburg, and it was not without excitement.

The first event of the meet, the men’s 50 freestyle saw Egor Kornev win the 50 freestyle in 21.97. This was a half-second add from the 21.43 he swam at this meet last season. He touched three tenths ahead of Pavel Samusenko‘s 22.25 in 2nd place.

Daria Klepikova won the 50 fly next, taking the top time of 25.81, which is the 10th fastest time in the world this season. This swim was a new lifetime best, dropping from the 25.97 she swam in April of 2024. Maria Osetrova finished 2nd in 26.07, just over two tenths back.

In the men’s 400 IM Maxim Stupin swam the top time of 4:13.77, two seconds off his lifetime best 4:11.53 that he swam at the World Championships in August of 2025. Stupin touched two seconds ahead of Ilya Borodin‘s 4:15.85.

Victoria Blinova earned the top time in the women’s 400 IM where she swam 4:38.48 to drop seven seconds from the 4:45.24 she set in April of 2024. She was six seconds ahead of Irina Zvyagintsevas 4:44.38 in 2nd.

Evgenia Chikunova swam next, winning the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.75, the 12th fastest time in the world this season, just behind Australian teenager Sienna Toohey. Chikunova beat Yulia Efimova‘s 1:07.30 by about half-a-second.

The meet wrapped up with the men’s 800 freestyle where Grigory Veikovishchev won in 7:52.23. Andrey Philipets swam 7:57.43 for 2nd overall.
