Dare Rose had a very solid in-season showing in Stockholm, clocking 23.5 in the 50 fly (4th), 51.1 in the 100 fly (1st), and 1:55.8 in the 200 fly (2nd). Rose was happy with his meet overall and the experience of visiting and competing in Stockholm, his first time racing in Europe. The former Cal bear also discussed moving back home to New Jersey and his training setup with his old club team, Scarlet Aquatics.

Keep up the great work Dare… once a Cal Bear always a Cal Bear
Please edit to spell Scarlet correctly. Come on.
Shout out Coach Mo and Anthony!
The title spells Scarlet incorrectly. It’s one “t.”
This is always the last stage of a career. Go home after all your journeying to find yourself again. Bye, Dare, it’s been a great run.
Being a professional swimmer in the Bay Area is not easy I imagine.
Also, why don’t you get from behind the keyboard and go take lap.
“last stage of his career” — meanwhile just a year ago he was the only us man at world championships competent enough to swim a 100 fly, an event he didnt even qualify to swim individually
Nice take!
Meanwhile, Dare just put up his 3rd fastest ever 200 fly and ranks amongst the top 10 globally in multiple events. More importantly, he is amongst the nicest most humble young men you will ever meet.
He’s happy, he has a ton of support and access to everything (better than most colleges offer) in terms of conditioning, mental health, nutrition, and a setup similar to what European swimmers have (who don’t usually swim with college students). Those times in Sweden were probably his best in-season.
So I guess he just has to prove Timmy wrong. But how about we be happy for him. We see these stories of super competitive athletes suffering from mental health issues and how about we wish the guy good luck and see how it goes.
When has this ever worked out?
He’s doing great so far
Trenton Julian. Oh wait…
Although Dare’s swimming well
Drew Kibler
Bro that’s like the prime example of it NOT working out
If you want a real answer and not downvotes…never lmfao
Didn’t Matt King have a pretty good year when he trained with Stickels? He’s been on so many teams I kinda lose track of his good and bad years.
Not the exact same as Rose since it wasn’t his old club team, but seems like it’s effectively what is going on here.
