Dana Vollmer, 4-time Olympic gold medalist, has had her ups and downs during her swimming career. At the 2004 Athens Olympics, she netted a gold medal in world record time on Team USA’s 4×200 freestyle relay. She missed making the 2008 US Olympic Swimming Team, a terrible disappointment for a swimmer who, at the time, was so accomplished. By the 2012 US Olympic Swimming Trials, Vollmer back to form and better than ever, making the US Olympic Swimming Team is several events. At the 2012 London Olympic Games, she won gold in the 100-meter butterfly, 4×100-meter medley relay and 4×200-meter freestyle relay.
Vollmer has captured over of thirty medals in world-class competitions, from the Olympic Games, to the FINA World Championships, to the Pan Am Games and the Pan Pacific Championships.
