The workouts themselves are not indicative of SwimSwam’s or Commit’s views on training. They strictly reflect the opinions of the author swim coach.

  • Target age group:  9-12 years old, 13-14 years old, 15-18 years old
  • Target level:  Age Group (Advanced)
  • Weeks until target meet:  4 weeks
  • Team Location:  United States

The Workout

Warm Up:
8×100 @ yoyo-10 sec rest odds-free/evens-back (50 kick/25 drill/25 swim)

Back Half Kick:
8×125 @ 2:15 odds-free/evens-choice (100 swim/25 kick with board)
3×150 @ 2:40 (100 IM swim/50 IM kick)

IM Work: Repeat 5x @ 1:20
1×75 free
1×75 free/back/breast
1×75 fly/back/breast

yoyo- you’re on your own. = I allow the athletes to swim at their own pace during warm up (it’s early, they aren’t awake yet).
