College Swimming Weekly Preview: Sept. 30 – Oct. 3, 2021

The 2021-22 NCAA season continues to pick up steam this week with several more intrasquad meets to go along with plenty of teams making their dual meet debuts.

Some of the top teams in the NCAA last season will get into action for the first time in 2021-22, including the reigning women’s national champion Virginia Cavaliers, the revamped Stanford women, along with Indiana, Auburn and Arizona State.

UVA will take part in their annual Blue vs Orange intrasquad, a unique format where the two squads are drafted by the team captains and several off-events are contested. Those include class relays, plus 600, 300 and 150-yard races, plus some 50s and the 100 IM.

The Stanford women will open things against San Jose State, while Indiana, Auburn and ASU will hold intrasquad meets.

Some other noteworthy dual meets include Virginia Tech taking on George Washington, Tennessee battling with UNC Wilmington, and the Show-Me Showdown between Mizzou and Saint Louis.

Below is a list of the D1 meets we’ll be covering at SwimSwam this week. If we missed any, please leave them in the comments and we’ll get them added.

If Meehan f*cks up with Smith and Huske this year his career is over

Stanford women will be just fine. Two of the best coaches in D1. Great team atmosphere and motivation is sky high. Will be a tough NCAA with NC State, Texas, Kentucky, OSIU and uva.

Meehan’s track record in dealing with talent at the level of Smith and Huske hasn’t been great though…

Has Kentucky ever finished in the Top 10 at NCAAs? I don’t think Meehan is worried about them?
