At the US Open in his home pool in Austin, Carson Foster threw down a 4:07.02, which was a significant swim in many ways. It was his 2nd fastest time ever in the event, his fastest swim on US Soil, his fastest time since training with Bob Bowman, a US Open Championship record (by over 3 seconds), and a Texas pool record. When reflecting on it, Foster even went one step further, saying he felt it was one of the best swims of his career period, regardless of event.
