BOSTON – The Boston University women’s swimming & diving team recorded a 155-126 victory over MIT on Saturday afternoon in the start of a month-long homestand.
Freshman Alayna Kennedy swept the diving events and freshman Molly Barber and Hadar Miller earned two wins apiece.
In the 200-yard backstroke, freshman Danka Ndubuisi swam the third-fastest time in school history at 1:58.44.
BU improved to 5-3 on the year and will return to action next Saturday (Jan. 24) to face Bryant at 1:30 p.m.

BOSTON – The Boston University men’s swimming & diving team held its first home event in nearly two months on Saturday afternoon and earned a 174-107 victory over MIT at FitRec Competition Pool.
Senior Tony Ponomoarev won a pair of events to lead the way as the Terriers improved to 5-3 on the season.
Sophomore Charlie Nenchev swam the program’s sixth-fastest 100-yard backstroke with a time of 49.32.

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 5 MIT women’s swimming and diving team traveled to Boston University on Saturday to take on the Division I Terriers at the FitRec Competition Pool. The Engineers combined to win six events, but the Terriers pulled out a 155-126 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- 200 Medley Relay: Sydney Smith, Sarah Bernard, Annika Naveen, and Ella Roberson finished second in 1:42.14.
- 200 Free: Mary Feliz finished second with a time of 1:50.78 while Jessica Crane took third in 1:51.81.
- 100 Back: Smith took the win in 55.07.
- 100 Breast: Daniela Petran finished with a time of 1:04.56 for second while Sarah Bernard finished third.
- 200 Fly: Kathy Nie clocked in with a mark of 2:03.71 for second followed by Belise Swartwood in third.
- 50 Free: Roberson took the win in 23.15.
- 1-Meter Diving: Logan Yee took second with a mark of 294.90.
- 100 Free: Roberson notched her second individual title with a time of 50.78.
- 200 Back: Jessica Crane finished in 2:06.53 for fifth.
- 200 Breast: Petran took second in 2:19.45.
- 500 Free: Feliz won the event in 4:58.32.
- 100 Fly: Smith swam a time of 54.77 to place second.
- 3-Meter Diving: Fiora Beratahani finished with 288.90 points for second overall.
- 200 IM: Nie took the victory with a time of 2:02.31.
- 200 Free Relay: Rachel Yang, Smith, Naveen, and Roberson won the event in 1:33.37.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Nie swam the fastest time in the country with her 200 IM win.
- Nie, along with Swartwood had NCAA B Cut swims in the 200 Fly.
- The 200-medley relay and 200 free relay teams hit NCAA B Cut times.
- Feliz hit a B Cut mark in the 200 free along with Crane.
- Smith recorded a B Cut time in the 100 back with her time being faster than last year’s invited time. She now ranks eight in Division III in the event. Her 100 fly time was also an NCAA B Cut and ranks as the fourth fastest time this season.
- Roberson had a B Cut swims in the 50 free and 100 free.
- Petran clocked in with a B Cut in the 200 breast.
- Feliz also had a B Cut time in the 500 free.

- 200 Medley Relay: Aitor Arrese-Igor, Thomas Wu, Bryce Roberts and Anthony Koh took second in 1:29.31.
- 200 Free: Evan Wong came away with the win in 1:39.40, .12 seconds ahead of Giovanni Sullo of BU.
- 100 Back: Arrese-Igor finished fourth with a time of 49.38 followed by Grant Hu in fifth.
- 100 Breast: Wu won the event in 54.94.
- 200 Fly: Jason Wang placed first, besting Diego Rosario by .15 as he clocked in at 1:50.37.
- 50 Free: Bryce Roberts took fifth in 21.13.
- 1-Meter Diving: Truman Remenicky took third with 262.28 points.
- 100 Free: Aaron Martin came in second with a time of 45.72.
- 200 Back: Hu took silver with a time of 1:48.35.
- 200 Breast: Daniel Seong, Nathan Wu, and Wang finished 2-4 with Seong leading the way with a time of 2:04.59.
- 500 Free: John Tietjen clocked in fourth with a mark of 4:39.74.
- 100 Fly: Eric Huang took the victory in 49.10.
- 3-Meter Diving: Remenicky finished fourth with 266.78 points.
- 200 IM: Hu placed first overall with a winning time of 1:48.44 followed by Wang in second.
- 200 Free Relay: Eric Huang, Arrese-Igor, Thomas Wu and Roberts clocked in with a time of 1:22.61 to take second.

- The 200 medley relay recorded an NCAA B Cut time.
- Wu hit a B Cut time in the 100 breast.
- Hu recorded a B Cut in the 200 back and 200 IM. He now has the sixth-fastest time in the 200 IM
