BOSTON – The Boston University women’s swimming & diving carried its strong performances into the second evening session at the Terrier Invite’s second day on Saturday (Nov. 22) at the FitRec Competition Pool.
BU established two school records across two victories to enter the final day in first place with an 808.5 team score, 90 points in front of second-place Northeastern.
The evening session started with the 200 medley relay. Sophomore Abby Han teamed with freshmen Hadar Miller, Kiki Rampersad and Molly Barber to set the school record in 1:41.05, finishing 11-hundredths faster than last year’s top time.
Rampersad, who set the school record in the 100 butterfly during the morning’s preliminaries at 53.26 seconds, reset that mark in the evening A Final at 53.04, just two-hundredths off the pool record and beating out the runner up in eight-hundredths.
Just as a relay event win ignited the night, the same occurred to close the evening as Newman, junior Izzy Valantiejus, sophomore Katie Pestrichelli and freshman Ava Coombs placed first in 7:27.82, hitting the touchpad 60-hundredths before runner-up Northeastern.
In the 400 individual medley, senior Haley Newman earned second place in 4:22.32.
BU had three swimmers in the 100 backstroke’s top five. Sophomore Cambria Jewett led the contingent in 55.50 seconds for a third-place result.
In the 3-meter dive, freshman Alayna Kennedy led the Terriers, posting a score of 258.75 in the final to place third overall.
The Terrier Invite concludes on Sunday (Nov. 23). The preliminaries are set for 10 a.m. and the finals begin at 6 p.m.

BOSTON – The Boston University men’s swimming & diving program posted two records and nine total top-three performances to highlight the second day of the Terrier Invite on Saturday (Nov. 22) at the FitRec Competition Pool.
After slotting in second place following the first day, BU overtook Boston College for first place in the team standings with 975 points after day two.
BU’s 200 medley relay featured seniors Tony Ponomarev and Ben Cho on the front and back ends, respectively, as well as juniors Ethan Huynh and Henry Dvorak. The quartet posted a time of 1:28.09 to break the school record previously set a season ago.
While that group ignited the night, the 800 freestyle relay wrapped the festivities. Senior Nathan Lee, junior Jonny Farber and sophomores Giovanni Sullo and Charlie Nenchev captured first place in 6:34.84, setting a FitRec pool record that Boston College previously set in 2021.
In his Terrier Invite debut, freshman Ethan Zhou was victorious in the 400 individual medley as he teamed up with Sullo to secure the top two times in the event. Zhou was first in 3:53.91, only two-hundredths faster than Sullo.
Lee also reached the podium in the 200 freestyle, hitting the touchpad at 1:38.14 for a second-place result.
Following up his record-setting contribution to begin the night, Huynh competed in the 100 breaststroke and was second in 55.18 seconds. Freshman Dimitri Melnikov was right behind him in third at 55.34 seconds as the Terriers captured 70 total points in the event’s A Final.
Five Terriers qualified for the A Final in the 100 backstroke. Ponomarev led the contingent in that event at 48.67 seconds, good for second place. BU recorded 86 points in the A Final for their efforts.
Earlier in the day, junior Zein Mahana notched a zones-qualifying score of 315.50 in the 1-meter dive and placed third, leading the Terriers.
