Feilian Mao
Feilian Mao is a Chinese swimmer and 200 breaststroke specialist originally from Hangzhou, China. Born July 30, 1993 Mao is the first Chinese man to break the 2:10 barrier in the 200-meter breaststroke. As one of China’s leading breastrokers, Mao made his first World Championships final in 2015.

Chinese National Championships
In 2013 Mao competed at the 2013 Chinese National Championships held in Huangshan. In his earlier career Mao focused on the freestyle events, and ended up winning the gold in the 200-meter free posting a time of 1:48.20. Showing some versatility Mao took another gold in the 100-meter breast, winning by eight one-hundredths of a second.

2015 World Championships
At the 2015 World Championships in Kazan Mao focused on the 200-meter breast, advancing to the championship final after becoming the first Chinese man to break the 2:10 barrier in the event. His time of 2:09.56 was just over a half-of-a-second faster than his previous best time thanks to a monstrous last 50 meters that put him under the mark. In the championship final however, Mao struggled a bit more in the last 50 meters, and posted a 2:10.0 to finish 8th.
