Allyson Kleinsorgen Signs With Western Kentucky Hilltoppers

ROXBURY TWP., N.J. (November 12, 2014) — Backstroke and sprint free specialist, Allyson Kleinsorgen, will be taking her talents to Western Kentucky University for the 2015-2016 collegiate season. She is looking forward to being a Lady Topper, while swimming under USA National Team Coach, Bruce Marchionda. Roxbury High School, home of the Gaels, hosted a Letter of Intent/College Commitment Ceremony for RHS Senior Allyson Kleinsorgen.

Kleinsorgen’s best times in yards:

  • 50 free – 24.09
  • 100 free – 51.97
  • 100 back – 56.97
  • 200 back – 2:02.73

“I chose Western Kentucky University for the great coaches, welcoming team and beautiful campus. I want to continue to improve, while still enjoying the sport of swimming. The opportunities presented to me at WKU lead me to believe that I can achieve my swimming goals. Additionally, I am looking forward to earning dual special/elementary education teaching certificates.”

Allyson is coached by Hilary Yates at the Randolph YMCA and has swam for Deb Burleigh on the Roxbury High School Swim Team. This year Dan Montgomery, a former coach of Kleinsorgen, will be taking over the reins as Head Coach for the Roxbury High School Team.

Highlights of Kleinsorgen’s Athletic Accomplishments:

USA Swimming Scholastic All-American in four events
Five year YMCA National Team member; currently has YMCA National qualifying times in five events
Placed in the top 40 at 2014 YMCA Nationals in Greensboro, NC in all events swum
NJ High School Meet of Champions finalist in 100 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle
2014 Morris County Champion 100 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle
Holds five individual and two relay records at Roxbury High School
Holds five individual and three relay records at Randolph YMCA
Holds two individual and one relay record for the Roxbury Racers at Horseshoe Lake

Allyson won the 100 Backstroke and 50 Freestyle events at 2014 Morris County Championships and finaled in both these events at 2014 NJ Meet of Champions. She has been a YMCA National Team member for five years and currently has qualifying times in five events. At 2014 YMCA Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina she placed in the top 40 in all of her events. She is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American swimmer in four events. She holds numerous individual and relays records on the Randolph YMCA, Roxbury High School, and Roxbury Racers Swim teams.

Allyson lives in Succasunna with her parents Eric & Debbie and her younger sister, Jackie.

Not as shameful as IU STILL not posting the final score of their meet with WKU though.
