The 2026 Campeonato Nacional Absoluto Open de Natación is taking place in Argentina, with 18-year-old Agostina Hein continuing her recent record-breaking tear.

Taking on the final of the women’s 200m IM, versatile Hein stopped the clock at a speedy result of 2:10.63, her best-ever performance, to grab the gold.

Hein defeated the field handily, with Laila Chain representing the next-closest competitor in 2:14.08, followed by Francesca Rossi, who rounded out the podium over seven seconds later in 2:21.44.

As for Hein, her 2:10.63 performance established a new Argentine national and South American continental record. She erased the former standards of 2:10.82, which she put on the books just last month at the Argentine Junior Championships. Her former and now new records represent her first-ever forays under the 2:11 barrier.

At this competition, Hein split 30.35/30.45 (1:00.80)/39.26/30.57 to get the job done.

The teen remains ranked 15th in the world on the season.

Nahh, those times in fly/back.. I’m sorry but I’m not buying that..
Specifically, the backstroke leg… Her previous PB was 29.46/33.19/38.86/29.31. Your are telling me that she can go the first 50m 0.89s slower, then go 2.84s FASTER, and then just fade a little bit in the 2nd 100m compared with the previous PB??
Need to see live to believe, I´m sorry…

Il nuovo record di Agostina Hein all’Argentina Open: ha battuto il suo record nei 200m misti There isn’t her split after the fly, but Hein was well ahead of the (very promising) 15 year-old Laila Chain, whose turn appears to be 28.60. Then Chain’s backstroke gains a lot of ground and the two are near at 100m (1.00.80 vs 1.00.99)

I am inclined to doubt that fly/back split because those do not seem realistic
